Specializing in internet connection and data centers, this multinational company put forth the need to improve their working environment, establish an egalitarian culture and create a space that reflects their core values. This newly designed headquarters puts people first and is where they can feel safe, where they belong and where they matter. It is a place where culture and values are promoted, where diversity and uniqueness meet, where sustainability and the environment lead and where the community and natural surroundings are embraced.
This 4-story 120,000 SF tenant improvement project, with 30,000 SF of exterior modifications, in the Redwood Shores neighborhood of Redwood City, promoted the client goals by eliminating private offices and establishing a free address module; allowing employees freedom to sit where they choose. The workplace offers a variety of settings including private, quiet and open workspaces, all with outstanding views. A newly expanded open communicating stair allows for cross-collaboration between floors. The first floor features a full-service kitchen, servery and café. A fitness center was added to promote wellness; as well as an open EBC and training facility to promote their business.
To further connect to the site and community, additional amenities were added to the building exterior. These amenities include the addition of a photovoltaic canopy at the building entrance for the powering of electric vehicles and a café deck expanding the client dining experience. Utilizing the site to its full potential, where the building cantilevers over the lagoon, gangways and a floating dock were added to provide a unique outdoor activity space for social gatherings and kayaking. The project envelopes the company’s core values and enhances the workplace and the employee experience.
