For the new Dublin offices, three different properties were evaluated by doing test fits, considering growth potential and analysis of building infrastructures. In addition, the AP+I team interviewed potential architectural firms in Dublin through long-distance interviews and colleague recommendations. A design process criteria was created for documentation, design development, construction administration and corporate standards execution.

The solution was to establish a partnership with the selected Dublin based architectural firm and immediately set up a site visit within a severely compacted schedule to identify building limitations and opportunities. Our architectural partnership with HJ Lyons was closely coordinated to maintain corporate standards and design criteria, while still allowing for a “local flavor” in the space. Very tight documentation deadlines were established for permit, building official reviews and construction. The project was successfully completed with our partner firm in a seamless way, with AP+I managing the entire process for LinkedIn.

The framework for our design solutions is based on constant attention to the requirements driven by the business units, creativity on a budget, flexible functionality and adaptability brought on by ongoing change. High levels of coordination between the LinkedIn team, building officials, general contractor and other vendors are imperative in meeting aggressive schedules. This coordination model is used for all local, domestic and global work.
