AP+I Design Welcomes Two New Design Directors

Mountain View, CA—We’re excited to share that Patricia Hernandez and Nina Tomasevich have stepped into new roles as Design Directors at AP+I Design!

Patricia and Nina were chosen not just for their track record of design excellence, but for the way they approach challenges—with creativity, curiosity, and collaboration. They’re both passionate about designing spaces that truly support the people who use them, and they’ve consistently shown themselves to be thoughtful leaders and trusted mentors across teams.

Patricia’s Mexican American heritage and life experiences have shaped her empathy, resilience, and inclusive approach to design. Her story and perspective align closely with AP+I’s values as a minority-owned firm, reinforcing our shared commitment to representation, equity, and creating opportunities through design. With over 15 years of experience—including a decade at Gensler—she has led projects across tech, media, law, finance, and education. This breadth of work has honed her rare ability to create environments that are both highly intentional and deeply inspiring.

Nina has been part of the AP+I team for nearly a decade and is already a trusted voice around the office. As a Senior Designer and Senior Associate, with over 19 years of experience, she’s led some of our largest, most complex, and most memorable projects—earning the respect of clients, consultants, suppliers, and teammates along the way. She has a sharp design eye, a calm approach to complex work, and a collaborative mindset that brings out the best in every team she’s part of. She knows our culture inside and out and continues to help shape work that’s thoughtful, refined, and people-centered.

In their new roles, Patricia and Nina will guide teams, elevate ideas, and shape the design vision of our firm. We’re thrilled to have them leading the charge—bringing creativity, mentorship, being fearless in our pursuit of innovation.

We can’t wait to see what’s next.
