THE CHALLENGE

To create an environment that tells the eBay story and reinforces who eBay is to the global community of sellers, customers and employees. To integrate the company values, brand identity and culture more deeply and consciously into the built environment. To create new executive offices on the 2nd floor in the headquarters’ building, while integrating eBay’s corporate design philosophy and providing extra value to employees.

THE SOLUTION

By creating the “Community Building” we are honoring the community of buyers and sellers who are integral to the success of eBay. Through the use of colorful finishes, materials and the eBay iconography, we were able to establish a lively, dynamic space that shouts out “eBay.” The use of creative displays and vignettes that reflect the history and community of eBay, such as the “Pez Wall”, are the basis from which we tell the story of eBay’s evolution and leadership in the global marketplace. The executive area reflects the fundamental principles of eBay – a very egalitarian company with the executives being visible and accessible to eBay employees.
