Cisco  – Building 8

THE CHALLENGE

The Cisco campus in San Jose has many buildings that were built-out under Cisco’s previous workplace strategy, creating an inefficient use of office space where cubicles were often vacant while meeting rooms were in short supply. The challenge was to modify Building 8 to match the current objectives of the Cisco Connected Workplace (CCW).

THE SOLUTION

The design of the CCW allows employees to choose where they work during the day, offering a variety of workplace types an individual can pick from. This concept is enabled by a variety of mobility and IP communications solutions. By eliminating offices and introducing different types of work spaces throughout the floor, employees have to the option to select where they want to sit based on actual business needs. This power of choice has increased employee satisfaction and enhanced collaboration, as well as reduced real estate and infrastructure costs.
